SG300 - Spanning tree always choosing 'wrong' link

Have an SG300 with 2x layer 2 connections to a colo. One is 500x500 on port GI50 and one is 100x100 on GI25. When then they are both plugged in, the switch always 'chooses' the 100x100. If I unplug, I lose one packet and the 500x500 kicks in. I set the port speed on the 100x100 to 100/full from auto/auto and that didn't help.

I went to Spanning Tree - STP Interface Settings and set the 100x100 to a higher cost and it didn't make a difference. I set the priority to a higher number, and that did seem to do the trick. But....when I pull the 500x500 connection, the 100x100 would not kick in when priority was set.

How do I need to set the ports so it will use the 500x500 first and then jump to the 100x100 should there be a failure?

These two ports are on a VLAN by themselves.

Mark, try and enable FastLink in the Edge Port settings and check if that makes a difference.

Not sure where that is an option. I went into the interface setting and see 'Edge Port' and my choices are Enable, Auto, Disable.
