Memory threshold notification query

Hi All,

As I know Memory threshold notification I/O and processor helps to mitigate low memory conditions on device.

So I have entered below command on my Cisco iOS device.

memory free low-watermark I/O threshold

memory free low-watermark processor threshold.

But I have also observed

exception memory ignore overflow processor
exception memory ignore overflow io

showing in my switch running config.

What my query " is it exception memory ignore overflow processor & exception memory ignore overflow io commands make unuse of command 

memory free low-watermark I/O threshold &

memory free low-watermark processor threshold and I won't get memory threshold notification

Hello,

I don't see a relation between these commands such that one would disable the other. 'exception memory ignore overflow processor' does memory overflow protection, the other one(s) notify you of low memory. The only relation could be that the overflow protection causes the free memory to not go below the values you have configured...
