Network settings for directly connected Cisco Navigator

Hi,

I would like to know if the network settings for the navigator are available when we have the navigator directly connected to the codec?
when the navigator is connected to a switch I can find on the navigator the network settings for both the codec and the navigator, but I'm curios to know the behavior when we connect the navigator directly to the camera/codec, does it still get IP from DHCP? can I change that to static instead of DHCP? or it doesn't need IP since it's directly connected to the camera/codec?

When the Navigator is directly connected to the codec, the navigator gets its IP settings from the codec (on a private LAN), not from your normal LAN DHCP server.
