blade will not power on - check if power allocation to server

error message we are seeing is "check if power allocation to server."

we have 3 out of 4 functional psu's and only 4 blades in the chassis. 

why is 1 blade unable to power on - is there a policy setting somewhere?

That error can be caused by many different issues. 

Try some of the following steps:

1. Decommission/Reack server

2. In CLI, run the command "reset slot x/y" x=chassis # y=blade #

3. Change the power allocation policy to manual. Equipment > Global Policies > Global Power Allocation Policy > "Manual Blade Level Cap"    

4. Move blade to a different slot

5. Reseat all components within the server
