Cisco Roomkit NTP ISSUE | CS-KIT-MINI-K9

Issue description:
Roomkit system NTP settings change from Auto to Manual - Intermittent change

Behavior:
+Forced the change to NTP auto and checked the settings. Reviewed logs found the following - eventlog/application.log noted the following log entry - 2024-04-19T14:38:54.432+10:00 appl[3906]: CuilApp[1]: Successfully changed configuration 'Configuration/NetworkServices/NTP/Mode' to 'Manual' by provisioning-UCM
+Created a Template in Webex Hub to force NTP settings to Auto across the fleet.

Environmental change:
Some systems on old Networks and New Fabric Networks, issues are consistent across old and new.

Do you have any idea how to fix this issue? Or Do I need to proceed with RMA?

An RMA for a software issue would be pointless when the next one shows up with the same software version. If this was a software defect you would open a TAC case to file a defect and seek a workaround.

Anyway, the error tells you exactly what the problem is: CUCM has not been set to have the endpoint look only to WCH for configuration settings. Because that hasn’t happened, every time the endpoint downloads its XML config file from CUCM it re-applies the settings defined in it - including NTP.

Either fix the setting in CUCM and apply config or instruct the endpoint to not get its Model Specific config parameters from CUCM. Either way, it’s a setting on the Device Config page.

We have identified that when the CUCM pushes the Phone Configuration to the device running RoomOS-11.15.1.6-ab740596da6, the NTP IP address settings are populated correctly, and only the NTP Mode changes from Auto to Manual when applying the Phone Configuration from Call Manager (I have been able to replicate this behaviour). The NTP time works in Auto, and no NTP issues have been reported in this state. The time settings are populated correctly.
There are no Firewall blocks. Additionally, the systems running CE (SX20, MX300G2, etc) are working fine, and no NTP setting changes occur, and these devices can reside on the same subnet as the Roomkits.

++Also that confirm NTP is using Unicast communication.
