Replacing Sup-7E with SUP8-E-RF on a Cisco 4510R+E

Replacing Sup-7E with refurbished Sup-8E on a Cisco 4510R+E

Hi all, I'm working with replacing a customer of ours' Supervisor modules on a Cisco 4500E.
The customer has existing Sup-7e modules, but we need to upgrade them to refurbished Sup-8e modules. I've been googling throughout the day, but unable to found relevant information. Our case we are replacing the modules with newer modules. Does the New SUP engine comes pre loaded with OS or we have load it later. Is there steps that I can follow to perform smooth transition.

The following information is what I've gathered thus far:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4500/hardware/configuration/notes/OL_29676.html
https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/lan-switching-and-routing/replace-sup-6-e-with-a-sup-7-e/td-p/2561035

Any hints or additional input regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Himanshu

It would be best to raise a TAC Case.

My opinion, unless I am wrong, would be the chassis must be "2.0" to support Sup8.

hardware revision is 2.0 for WS-C4510R+E

below output data got from - 'sh idprom chassis'

-Product Number = WS-C4510R+E
-Hardware Revision = 2.0

Then you should be fine.

I still, however, recommend raising a TAC Case and get TAC to confirm, in writing, that hardware revision 2.0 will work with Sup8/Sup9.
By the way, why Sup8 and not Sup9?
