awful product, I can't increase it

This should work even if your setup is not a cluster
06-10-2023 01:27 AM
What size did you give to vManage in the initial setup?
06-10-2023 03:26 AM
initial the compute guys rolled out vmanage 20.4.x i believe with a 100GB HD.Later on with futher upgrades we adjusted to 500GB HD. And upped mem to 64GB and 32vCPU instead of 16vCPU and 32 GB of mem. Now only issue is is upgrading from 20.7.2 to 20.9.x. After istallation and reboot vmanage tries to revert to older version.

Which 20.9.x version do you try to upgrade? It seems 20.9.2 has problems , use 20.9.3 or 20.9.2.1. Check release notes for initial check , diagnostics and caveats.

I tried 20.9.3. Maybe installation time out should be adjusted under settings in vmanage. But i will have to try.
Haven't heard back from TAC yet, i've got a case open for this.Direct upgrade should be supported according to release notes

Hi All - I have a similar issue where I need to increase disk space for my on-prem vManage. Anyone aware of any formal document/process? This link doesn't appear to be working anymore
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/solutions/collateral/enterprise-networks/sd-wan/white-paper-c11-741440.html#Expandingthedatadiskpartition
Thanks

In case someone else is looking to increase the disk space on on-prem vManage. These are the steps I followed:

It didn't work. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I try this one, but for me it doens't work to
Expand the Disk Size
Perform the following steps to increase the disk size on Cisco SD-WAN Manager.
Power the device down on all Cisco SD-WAN Manager instances in the cluster.
request nms all stop
Power down the Cisco SD-WAN Manager VM.
Using the appropriate tools for the hypervisor system hosting the Cisco SD-WAN Manager VM, increase the size of the secondary partition that is used as the data disk partition.
Start the Cisco SD-WAN Manager VM.
Power the device down.
request nms all stop
Use the following command to reconfigure Cisco SD-WAN Manager to use the new disk size.
request nms application-server resize-data-partition
The partition resizing will take some time to complete.
Use the following vshell command to confirm that the /opt/data disk has been resized.
vshell
df -hk | grep data
Reboot the device.
vManage-01# request nms application-server resize-data-partition
Stopping Container Manager
timeout: run: container-manager: (pid 27061) 87s, want down, got TERM
resize2fs 1.45.7 (28-Jan-2021)
Filesystem at /dev/sdb is mounted on /opt/data; on-line resizing required
old_desc_blocks = 3, new_desc_blocks = 4
