The expert will go over the Cisco ISR1100X Series platforms for the SD-WAN branch solution and how it fits into Cisco’s overall branch offerings.

The new ISR1100X Series platforms, and their predecessors ISR1100 Series platforms, now support both Cisco IOS XE SD-WAN and Viptela OS. Prakash will go over the key feature differences between these two operating systems and what benefits customers will get when they migrate to Cisco IOS XE SD-WAN.
Prakash will also review some of the use cases that these platforms address and lastly will cover the migration options for these platforms from Viptela OS to Cisco IOS XE SD-WAN.

Hi, is the throughput the same for the 1100-6G and 1100X-6G ?

Hi David,

The throughput for 1100-6G and 1100X-6G will be same and also for 1100-4G and 1100X-4G. The reason for this is the core allocation is same however what you get additional with 8GB DRAM SKUs which are 1100X-4G and 1100X-6G is support for SD-WAN security features that you can deploy with support of 8GB DRAM. Additionally on 1100X-6G, since it comes with 16GB Flash, it enables on-box storing of URL filtering database for faster lookups and better performance instead of cloud based lookups. Also with 1100X series platforms you will get higher scale compared to 1100 series platforms that come with 4GB DRAM.

Thanks

Prakash

Thank you Prakash.

With the 1100-6G devices that we recently purchased - we were only able to purchase a maximum of  250Mb DNA licence. Does the same apply to the 1100X-6G devices or is there capability to purchase bigger bandwidth licencing ?

Thank you

Hi David,

Yes 250Mb DNA license is the max you can go with ISR1100 or ISR1100X series platforms. We don't have HSEC license support on these devices so the max these platforms support is 250 Mbps unidirectional or 500 Mbps aggregate throughput.

Thanks

Prakash
