Backhaul traffic

we use word like traffic is backhauled to DC or there is local internet breakout so what is the meaning of that?

any idea about colo sites ? what are they?

backhauled to DC == Carry the traffic at branch / remote site coming from service / LAN side, all the way to DC. Typically this is done via OMP (using a vSmart policy), by sending the default route to brach/remote site from DC.

local internet breakout == Is a case where local branch site goes out to Internet locally at the branch, instead of backhauling to DC and going out to internet.

colo sites == Ability to regionalize the routing services via colocation facilities. This solution allows distributed enterprises to have an alternate to enabling direct internet access at the branch and enhance their connectivity to IaaS and SaaS providers.

A diagram is a must for understanding such theoretical concepts. It will be more helpful if someone can upload the diagram with backhauling explanation.
