Cisco CLI global configuration issue

I am using a Cisco Catalyst 2901 router with c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.157-3.M3.bin IOS with PuTTY terminal. This is a school setting and I am trying to figure out how to fix this issue-no luck googling the answer (I honestly don't even know how to word it). I have attached a screen shot of my terminal to show what I am describing. When I use the "?" command in any configuration mode besides global configuration I get a easily readable formatting:

Entry.............explanation

Entry 2...........explanation

However, when I am in global configuration mode the formatting is messed up:

   Entry....

explanation

   Entry2.....

Explanation

I want to fix this but I don't know how to, If anyone else has ran into this issue please assist- Like I said this is a educational environment so I do not think I can update the IOS.

Update: I have tried another terminal such as TeraTerm and the same output is shown.

Hello,

looks like your terminal width is set to something other than the default:

2901#terminal width

Set it to the highest value possible (512 I think)...

Hello,

This worked! (well I tried this out on my own router at home that just came in the mail from ebay {exact same model and everything for only $0.99!!!} and I navigated the commands you listed and I was able to recreate the issue that I was having at school- and then fix it). You are also correct that it is up to 512.

hi,

did you resize your putty screen?

check your putty setting: window > columns: ? > rows: ? (default is 80 and 24).

can you try teraterm or secure crt if you have the same problem?

I did try doing this, and this was what my teacher thought was the problem....but no avail.

The solution has been found from above post. 2901# terminal width 512

Thanks for the help though!
