Duo Universal Prompt update and ADFS adapter

Hi,

We are working on upgrading our Duo ADFS adapters to the version that supports the universal prompt and I had a couple of questions:

At what point do the changes to the user experience take place?  After the ADFS adapter upgrade, does it still appear as an iframe or is it a re-direct?  I want to understand if there is any change at all to the user experience after the universal ADFS adapter upgrade or if all that happens when you flip the switch in the duo admin web portal.

Thanks

Hi @primag - Once a user authenticates to Duo for AD FS via the updated Duo plugin, the "Universal Prompt" section of the Microsoft AD FS application page reflects this status as "Ready to activate", with these activation control options:

https://duo.com/assets/img/documentation/universal-prompt/universal-app-ready-to-activate_2x.png?version=012924

You as the admin are in control of showing the Prompt experience to your users. Setting the radio button to 'Show Universal Prompt' and then saving the changes is when users will see the new prompt the next time they log in. Installing a version of the Duo for AD FS Adapter that supports Universal Prompt will not by itself change the user experience.

Hope this helps!
