Hello everyone! Here are the release notes for our most recent updates to Duo.

Public release notes are published on the Customer Community every other Friday, the day after the D-release is completely rolled out. You can subscribe to notifications for new release notes by following the process described here. If you have any questions about these changes, please comment below.

What’s in this release?

 

New features, enhancements, and other improvements

Now in General Availability: Device Activity Notifications
  • Duo administrators may now enable notifications to users about changes to their account, such as when authentication devices are added or removed.
  • Notifications can be sent by email, Duo Mobile app, or both.

Now in General Availability: Trusted Endpoint Universal Prompt Remediations
  • Trusted Endpoint related remediation screens will now be displayed in the Duo Universal Prompt instead of the traditional Duo Prompt.

Now in General Availability: Passwordless Mobile Trusted Endpoints
  • If Trusted Endpoint policy is configured for mobile devices, users will now be able to authenticate and complete the trust check in Passwordless.
  • If the user is on a mobile device and needs to complete a Verified Duo Push, they will be prompted to do an inline auth instead. This will happen whether or not the Trusted Endpoint policy is configured for mobile devices.

Now in General Availability: Role-Based Access Control for Subaccounts

  • See our Role-Based Access Control Administrator Guide
  • Duo administrators who do not have the Owner role can be assigned different subaccount administrator roles.
  • Duo administrators who do not have the Owner role can be given access to specific subaccounts and denied access to others through access tags.
  • Available to all Managed Service Providers and customers with subaccounts.

Send Duo feedback in the Universal Prompt

  • New option for "I have feedback for Duo" in the "Need help?" section of MFA prompt. This link takes users to a Qualtrics form that users can anonymously fill out to share feedback & issues from their Duo experience. 
  • Not enabled for Federal customers or customers that have data collection agreements.

New and updated applications

Three new named SAML applications with Duo SSO
  • There are now named SAML applications to protect Auth0, Okta, and Apigee X with Duo SSO, our cloud identity provider.
  • Reminder and Update: Duo Access Gateway will reach the last date of support effective October 26, 2023. The new DAG end of life date will be March 30, 2024. Please see the Guide to Duo Access Gateway end of life for more details.

Duo Device Health application version 5.5.0 released


Duo Mobile for Android version 4.51.0 released

  • Users updating from Duo Mobile version 3 to version 4 will no longer see a welcome screen.

Duo Mobile for iOS version 4.51.0 released

  • Miscellaneous bug fixes and behind-the-scenes improvements.

 

Bug fixes

  • Updated Passwordless authentication flow to improve user experience issues related to Chrome 118 support for saving passkeys to iCloud Keychain on macOS.
  • Fixed What's New resizing issue in the Duo Admin Panel dashboard.
  • Fixed a bug in the User Location and Passwordless configuration menu that prevented refreshing the list of locations when an administrator browsed to a different policy.
  • Fixed a Trusted Endpoints bug that limited the number of devices enrolled when using the generic enrollment script. There is now no limit on the number of devices. 
  • Fixed a Duo Self-Service Portal (SSP) browser cache error that resulted when a user reopened the SSP page from browser history after the session expired. 
  • Fixed a Duo Passwordless issue authenticating with passkeys via the 1Password browser extension.
  • Added iPhone 15 model names so that they are correctly displayed in the Duo Admin Panel. For example, administrators will see “iPhone 15” instead of “iPhone15,4”.
