How does "Enable Automatic VPN Server Selection" actually work?

I am having trouble figuring out if the AnyConnect profile option "Enable Automatic VPN Server Selection" will actually pick the best server based on latency/location, or if it has to be manually defined in the profile (primary vs backup server).

The only board I found was this: https://community.cisco.com/t5/vpn/asa-and-anyconnect-automatically-select-best-server/td-p/2483576 and it was inconclusive if it was manual or automatic.

as per i know we need to define the order. in the xml file.
