I’m curious what authentication methods, if any are available for a user without a mobile device attempting to gain access to a web application.
Are bypass codes the only option in this case? Being that a hardware token would not work, and the user does not have a mobile device for phone call / sms authentication.

Hi there,
You could use U2F or phone calls to a landline as additional non-mobile authentication methods. For more info, please see this article “Is a phone required for a Duo user to authenticate?”

Also, as a follow up, could you tell me why you say a hardware token would not work?
